What is a contract review?

A contract review involves an attorney reading through your contract with context in mind of your circumstances, and pointing out where there are any red flags, concerns and/or recommendations that you should consider before signing or otherwise agreeing to the contract. We identify risks, explain key terms (like liability, termination, IP, and confidentiality), and provide clear recommendations.

Our contract review service is designed to give you a snapshot of the legal concerns relevant to your issue or transaction. Our lawyers carry out detailed reviews and provide commentary in lay terminology as annotations within the document, via email or via screen recording video software. You receive a practical summary of concerns and suggested edits. We flag unfair or risky provisions and provide language you can propose back. You can optionally add negotiation support or amendments.

How long does the review take?

Our reviews normally take 2 whole business days for standard delivery. The review will be delivered to you before midnight of the second business day. Express Delivery can provide same-day delivery if ordered before 1PM EST (delivered before midnight same day), or next-business-day delivery if ordered after 1PM EST (delivered before 5PM next business day).

What if my contract has already been signed?

If your contract has already been signed, and you are looking to get guidance on a specific situation that has arisen, not to worry, you can still use this review service in the same manner. In the additional information field during checkout, please insert the specific points that you are looking to have the guidance center around.

Can you help with negotiation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once your contract has been reviewed, it may be necessary to negotiate amendments with the other party/parties to the contract. This might take the form of amendments being effected to the contract itself by our attorneys, email correspondence being sent by us to the other party/parties with our proposed amendments, or a call/online meeting with the other party/parties to discuss and negotiate. Select the optional Negotiation Support during checkout for focused support and strategy.

Does the review include edits to the agreement?

Our reviews entail pointing out issues and concerns, and as such, do not ordinarily include actual amendments being made to the contract or document. By default you receive commentary and proposals. However, you can add one hour of amendments during checkout if you want us to implement changes directly to the document.

Will I know who my attorney is?

Yes, your attorney will be in direct contact with you via email when delivering the review to you.

Can I ask clarifying questions to my attorney about the review?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you may ask any follow-up clarifying questions to your attorney via email, who will answer the questions at no additional cost. You also have the option, as an optional extra, to schedule a 20-minute consultation with your attorney if you would like to clarify any questions during an online consultation.

Your lawyer will have no less than 10 years' practicing experience, with many having 15-20+ years of experience in their field.

Yes, our lawyers are registered with the appropriate practicing authority in their state and are fully licensed to practice law.

How do you measure page length?

Page length is measured in Tahoma font, size 11, 1.5 line spacing. If you're unsure, upload your document and we'll suggest the appropriate page tier, or feel free to send the agreement via live chat or email for us to measure it for you.

What if I'm unsure of the correct page tier?

Accepted Answer

No issue. Upload the contract as is and select the page tier that you think is correct. Once the order is received, we will then measure it in our measuring font. Should it measure much longer than the tier ordered, we will simply revert to you with the shortfall payment link in order for you to make a payment corresponding with the correct page length tier.

By what time do I need to order the Express Delivery service to ensure delivery on the same day?

To receive your review on the same day before midnight, you will need to order the Express Delivery before 1PM EST. Express Delivery orders made after 1PM EST will be delivered during the next business day, prior to 5PM.
